Dress the Stars Project
ABOUT DRESS THE STARS PROJECT
“Dress the Stars” is the very first project of its kind in Thailand. The next generation of undiscovered talent from Accademia Italiana Fashion and Design Institute (Thailand) will be given the unique opportunity to design new garments for 10 celebrities each famous in their own fields but all renowned for their unique sense of style.
The students will be given just eight weeks to create five original designs each reflecting their paired celebrity’s personality and taste. The final designs from ‘Dress the Stars’ will be revealed on the runway at the Accademia Italiana annual Fashion Design Show and Exhibition held on Saturday 9th May 2015 at Central World, Bangkok.
The original idea for the project came after Accademia Italiana President, Dr. Vincenzo Giubba was sent a photograph of one of the Institute’s former students, Hima Talluri, with her famous client, Hillary Clinton. This photograph of Hima, who had studied Fashion Design at Accademia Italiana in Florence, and the former First Lady of the USA inspired Dr. Giubba to not only train the fashion designers of tomorrow but also to provide maximum exposure within the industry. From this, ‘Dress the Stars’ was born
